Overview
Victor Fotso Nyie was born in 1990 in Douala, Cameroon and currently lives in Faenza, Italy. Through primary forms and evocative vibrations of colors, Victor Fotso Nyie’s works are charged with energies that generate a spatial and temporal continuity. The main object of his artistic research is the condition of contemporary African man, alienated and suffering due to an unfinished past of enslavement and exploitation. Works that recall the generating force of the earth mix with others that depict, in a metaphorical key, the globalized world in which we live. The visual impact is immediate and wants to contrast with the invisibility and contempt to which the black body is too often subject in the Western world. However, a visible constancy in his works is the attention to spirituality and the human soul.
