Inspired by Josef Frank’s ‘Flora Cabinet’, the Flora Cabinet 190 Clear Amber is part of the Flora Contemporaria limited edition series and implements the studios’ signature flower-infused resin in a bespoke hue, reminiscent of the Renaissance cabinets of curiosities and amber chambers. Framed in a reflective, polished stainless steel skeleton with mirror-like shelves, the material, polished on the outside and matte inside, highlights the plants encapsulated within as if they were genuine fossils. The organic-shaped handles are formed with real celosia flowers and metallised in polished zinc in a bespoke thermo-coating technique. Made of preserved flowers and leaves in a translucent amber resin body, this gracefully rounded edge cabinet is supported by an intricate stainless steel frame. The cast aluminum handles made of flowers open into a two layered spacious interior where the steel and resin come to life as an ensemble. Having grown up on a flower farm in Poland, Rusak draws inspiration from his childhood to create unique pieces of fine craftsmanship.
