Celine Alexandre is the alliance of two personalities and is the name they chose for their breakthrough into the world of interior design. Celine, born February 1966, went through the upmost fashion schools in Paris and has, at all times, devoted her lifestyle to creativity and fabrics. Alexandre, born March 1956, follows two generations of artisans in textile embellishment. They met in LA during the early 80’s. Through projects in many fields such as costume design, commercial events, children wear, there way takes them back to the textile creation for the Haute Couture. In the early 90’s they worked at the pinnacle of the international fashion pyramid. Their atelier (known as Atelier Dynale) remains largely out of the public eye, hidden behind the scenes of the world's most prestigious brands. It is one of the rare places where unique textile creations support the top exclusive fashion lines. Chanel, Dior, Givenchy… rely on Celine Alexandre’s atelier. Since the pieces they work on require high levels of technicality, they have been solicited by theaters, filmmakers and interior designers. Developing projects with Philippe Starck, Christian Liaigre and François-Joseph Graf led Celine Alexandre to a new field. In 2014, aware of their outsider status, they turned toward the public and created an Hors Normes series of pieces. Meant for wall and floor covering, they display powerful drawings applied on felt with gold coated with resin. These pieces can be seen as an hommage to the Art Deco lacquer works. They also carry an invitation to walk on gold.
