Bernar Venet is a world-renowned artist and sculptor whose work has a strong architectural feel – his most recognizable pieces are the Arcs, which he began creating in the 1990s. Formally trained in France, he worked at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris before a five year stint in New York during the 1960s. He returned to Paris to teach art theory. He has received many honors and awards for his work. His furniture also retains architectural elements, often using exposed steel and rigid proportions. Nonetheless, his attention to detail and waxed smooth finish creates a soft harmony that adds beauty to any space.
